Keymer & Hassocks vs Lewes Bridgeview II
Division 4

K & H ground out a hard fought 1-0 win at home to Lewes Bridgeview in Div 4.In a keenly contested physical game both defences proved dominant with Ben Watson outstanding for the home side winning several robust challenges and generally leading throughout. Ian Smith was also impressive at full back.

K & H opened the scoring when Stuart Thompson converted a ball from Jo Davey and later seemed to have hit a second but the ball came back off a post with the keeper well beaten. LB managed to break-up K & Hs usual midfield rhythm and the hosts found it difficult to mount convincing attacks.

That pattern was repeated in the second half although the best scoring chance fell to Jo Davey who misjudged the flight of the ball to fire over from close range.

LB sensing there was something in the game for them pushed on in the last ten and nearly found the target from a perfect cross. Some last ditch defending ensued notably Troy Raftery's last ditch bicycle kick clearance and it is fair to say the home side were relieved to hear the final whistle.
