Keymer & Hassocks vs Ditchling II
Somerville Cup

Keymer & Hassocks progressed into the next round of the Somerville Cup edging out a determined Ditchling side 1-0
On a surprisingly bumpy pitch the visitors adapted better and allowed K & H little time on the ball although the home side created 2 clear chances Gregor Ross blasting over from 6 yards and Ben Watson heading wide from a corner.

The second half saw much endeavour but little in the way of scoring opportunities until Toby Raftery crossed to Stuart Thompson but he failed to connect with a open goal at his mercy.Ditchling also had a one on one but failed to capitalise.

Turning point was the introduction of James Harris who made an immediate impact with a surging run into the box only to be denied by the Ditchling keeper with a fine save. However he was on hand when Raftery made a similar run and crossed-Harris flicked the ball up before volleying home for a truly special finish which earned him K & H MOM although defender Ian Smith was equally impressive.
