Keymer & Hassocks vs Lindfield
Div 1

K & H had to work hard to overcome a very good Lindfield outfit at the Adastra

The visitors were quick off the mark and put K & H under pressure right from the off with some excellent midfield play but the home defence were well up for the contest and denied them the space to seriously trouble goalie Craig Jackson save for one moment when they broke down the left but the player on the ball failed to pick out his colleague who was unmarked at the edge of the six yard box

At the other end Rob Kift who is accustomed to playing against smaller opponents was this time dwarfed by the two centre backs and it took a while for him to find his feet until a chance came to put Stuart Thompson in who curled his shot past the keeper

K & H had more of the play after the restart and started to ask questions of the Lindfield defence who were found wanting when Thompson returned the favour of the first half feeding Kift who fired home into the far corner. He added a second shortly after –Lindfield were unfortunate when a back pass to their keeper was charged down and he had an empty net at his mercy

A rare guest appearance by Eddie Emmens wrapped up the scoring as he hit a fierce drive at the keeper who palmed it out but it fell kindly to Toby Raftery and he made no mistake from close range

Lindfield kept going and had two really good chances to score but Ian Parsons saved the day with two timely interceptions

MOM went to Troy Raftery who has built up a really good defensive partnership with Dan Goodrum whilst club captain Ben Watson takes a sabbatical

The game was also notable for Fin Fogarty who reached the 100 appearances for the Club and Toby Raftery who hit 200
