Three Bridges III vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 1

K & H made another long journey this time to Three Bridges with a squad already beset by injury and further hampered by 2 pull outs on the morning of the game

They started into the strong wind and despite a period of pressure slowly got their passing game going. They also opened the scoring with Duncan O’Reilly pouncing on a low corner from Toby Raftery which appeared to deceive the TB defence

TB got back in the game courtesy of a disputed penalty which saw Ben Watson booked for his protests. This seemed to spark anger in the Ref and not long after he clearly enjoyed sending him off after a tackle from behind.K & H did get their noses in front however- a short passing move involving Raftery Stuart Thompson and James Harris who hit the ball high into the net

The second half was an ordeal as not only did they only have ten men and used their one sub -Raftery was carrying an injury which meant he could not really run.TB understandably sought to make the most of K & H’s problems launching waves of attacks but they managed to keep them at bay with Dan Goodrum being outstanding at the back whilst stand in goalie Gary Thomas was also impressive

TB finally broke through with a far post header whilst K & H might yet have won it when Harris rose also at the far post but the home keeper made a fine save .So both sides eventually had to settle for the draw.

On reflection a pretty lousy day out for K & H with the added downer concerning the Ref’s Sergeant Major approach to handling the game-did not appear to enjoy what he was doing and made it a miserable experience for the players.
