East Grinstead Town III vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2

K & H came away from East Grinstead Town with another win but it was a had fought contest with the decider coming 5 minutes from time

EG started brightly but K & H had the first chance when Stuart Thompson found himself free in the box but he could not hit the target.A mis-placed pass put EG in for the opener the ball being despatched first time following a quick move which completely opened up the K & H defence

K & H replied with some quality of their own via a five man move finishing with a ball to Toby Raftery who unleashed a fierce drive to complete the comeback

EG then started to boss the game however as the K & H defence became somewhat ragged and it was perhaps no surprise when they took the lead from a well placed corner. They ha d the ball in the net a third time but thankfully for K & H it was ruled offside

Some dabate ensued at half time about the quality of defending –it was felt the boggy surface made it difficult to defend that end of the pitch and matters did indeed improve noticeably in the second half with Troy Raftery outstanding

As to the offensive play K & H had a lot of pressure without really creating much until a super ball from Ian Parsons to Jo Davey put him clean through but he fired wide.Turning point was the arrival of sub James Harris who looked comfortable on the tricky surface. He managed to create a bit of space on the edge of the box and fired goalwards-with the keeper out of position it looked a certain goal but Toby Raftery made sure by following up

K & H now had their tails up and pressed for the winner which finally came again via Harris as he struck from just outside the six yard box-the keeper saved but it fell back to Harris who repeated the effort-once more the keeper saved but this time it fell to Stuart Thompson and he made no mistake
