Keymer & Hassocks vs Lindfield
Div 2

K & H finally picked up a point drawing 1-1 at home to Lindfield.

Dan Southcombe was so eager to keep his place in the team he slept next to the pitch overnight ( wearing his soup tin tabard from Friday nights party) until a friendly dog woke him by licking his face-the fresh air obviously did him good as he had his best ever game for the club before a terrible challenge saw him carried off with fears that he had broken his ankle. Fortunately he has made a miraculous recovery thereby earning the legendary title Ironlegs 2.

K & H took an early lead as James Emmens playing his 100th game for the Club converted a penalty after James Harris was brought down in the box. They then went on to play some of their best football so far and were hopeful at half time of pulling off the victory. However Lindfield had other ideas and upped the pace of the game making it difficult for K & H to get the ball. The pressure paid off with a simple tap in as the home side were finally left exposed. Both sides went for the decider K & H’s best chances coming from an Emmens effort at close range which the Lindfield keeper kept out with a smart save and Jo Davey who hit the post following a run into the box.

James Handford made his contribution by fracturing his knee ligament in mid week training thereby rendering himself unable to take part but his bravery in turning up on crutches clearly inspired his team mates.
