Keymer & Hassocks vs Cuckfield Town
Div 2

Keymer & Hassocks battled to a 1-1 draw with Cuckfield Town. The quality of the play was impressive considering the hard playing surface and the game was played in a good spirit.

The sides seemed evenly matched but Cuckfield had the upper hand territorially and took the lead when a ball back headed into the six yard box caught Dave Edwards marking a player at least a foot taller than him who duly took advantage heading firmly home.Cuckfield unfortunately lost one of their forwards with a kick to the head but they seemed to regroup ok.

No complaints therefore about the score at half time but K & H were determined to get back on terms if they could and started to take the game more to Cuckfield.Their reward came when Toby Raftery put James Emmens in and his left foot strike was too strong for the keeper.Raftery then thought he had scored as he got on the end of a Jo Davey cross with his head but the keeper made a fine reaction save.At the other end an effort from outside the box clipped the bar.

The game could have gone either way near the finish as firstly Cuckfield broke through but shot wide and Emmens did the same a few minutes later.

K & H MOM went to Troy Raftery who barely put a foot wrong all game.

An enjoyable contest against a good side with a fair result.
