Keymer & Hassocks vs Sporting Lindfield
Div 2

K & H playing their first home game since 25th October ran out 4-1 winners against Sporting Lindfield.

SL took the game to K & H from the off dominating territorially and forcing a number of corners.K & H struggled to get going although Stuart Thompson did create a good chance but delayed his shot too long, whilst at the other end a defensive lapse let in an SL forward but the defence somehow managed to scramble a recovery.

Against the run of play K & H thought they had opened the scoring when Toby Raftery worked his way to the by-line and pulled the ball back to James Emmens who nodded home at the near post.Much to the astonishment of the home side the goal was ruled out for offside however after the Ref consulted the AR.

Raftery finally did open the scoring in the second half-Craig Jackson hit a clearance to Jo Davey who flicked it on to put Raftery clear and he made no mistake.

The game seemed to be going K & H's way when a seemingly harsh penalty was awarded for handball but maybe justice prevailed when Gregor Ross pulled his resultant effort wide.

SL struck back with one of the best goals ever scored against K & H-Troy Raftery was well positioned close to his man at the edge of the area-there seemed no danger until he swivelled and hit a powerful drive across keeper Jackson high into the far corner.

The game was settled over a 15 minute period when K & H really clicked into gear-Stuart Thompson advanced into the box and put in Toby Raftery for his second.Thompson then intercepted a poor pass and this time Gregor Ross was on his way for the 3rd.Thomspon helped himself to the 4th going past a number of players before flicking the ball home

James Emmens thought his luck had changed when he followed up a through ball-the keeper appeared to get something on it although Emmens managed to put it away but once more he was denied by the AR after another consultation by the Ref.

K & H MOM-therefore went to Emmens for his hard work throughout and also in  recognition of his new status as the Club's unluckiest striker ever.
