Keymer & Hassocks Football Club. Playing Football in Hassocks at Adastra Park since 2003

Report - 17th December 2007
East Grinstead Town II vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 3

On another rubbish pitch K & H this time came away 6-3 winners from East Grinstead Town where it was a credit to both sides that they managed to produce some good football in such poor conditions.

Although the hosts had their fair share of possession the K & H forwards shone in the first half as they rattled in 5 goals James Handford opened their account pouncing to convert a parried effort by Stuart Thompson, who himself went on to complete his hat-trick-Toby Raftery also getting on the scoresheet.EGT's response was via the penalty spot with a well taken effort.Thompson earned K & H MOM not only for his goals but for continuing despite injury after he was chopped down when clean through-EGT being extremely lucky to avoid a sending off.

K & H went further in front very early in the second half as Gregor Ross finished off a good move.It may be that they then relaxed a bit too much or more likely those players who had started their Christmas celebrations early began to pay the price for Friday night excesses.Whatever the cause EGT came more and more into the game to pull it back to 6-3 and also saw an effort clip the crossbar.

It was not till the closing stages that K & H rallied as Raftery went inches wide with 2 efforts and Dave Edwards blazed over from close range.
