Keymer & Hassocks vs Willingdon Athletic III
Somerville Cup
K & H stuttered to a 4-2 victory over Willingdon in the Somerville Cup
Despite going ahead with an early brace by Stuart Thompson, who cleverly capitalised on goalkeeping errors, the stop start nature of the season is clearly taking its toll on their form as time and again moves broke down and passes went astray.Willingdon had their moments and tested keeper Neil Smith with a well placed free kick.
After the break Willingdon pulled one back with a shot from outside the area but Toby Raftery restored the margin with number three firing home a well measured cross from Wayne Hamilton.
Stuart Thompson then completed his hat trick from the penalty spot after Jo Davey had been brought down
Willingdon redoubled their efforts bringing a splendid one handed save from K & H MOM Neil Smith which even his opponent acknowledged and they finally got their consolation the ball being driven home from close range.
