Old Vardenians vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 1
K & H battled through the Albion crowds to reach Old Varndenians pitch at Brighton Uni to be confronted by a windswept vast expanse that is the 3G pitch on which the contest was to take place. They feared their stamina would be overly tested which was to prove true as they ran out of steam towards the end of the first half when they conceded a soft goal. The OV’s team seemed unrecognisable from the outfit faced earlier in the season, K & H were probably up against their fronts.
The second half was pretty much one way traffic as OV’s ran in four more goals.K & H had 2 chances-Lewis Taylor was taken out in the box by the home keeper but the Ref said he did not see it so a penalty was denied but in fairness he also missed one at the other end.Adam Ewens got clear near the end but saw his curled effort turned around the post.
All in all a lousy day out on a ridiculous pitch-perhaps if we ever play them again at home we can have our pitch size artificially reduced.
