Keymer & Hassocks vs Lindfield
Div 1
Another meeting with Lindfield following a recent cup encounter saw K & H notch up victory in a game where they played their best football for some time. They looked comfortable from the off, Pete Williamson causing problems with his pace down the right although it was a dead ball situation that led to the opener when Lewis Taylor drove home powerfully off the post-it is doubtful the keeper even saw it.
Shortly after Matt Thomas made a run from full back and picked out Williamson with a perfect cross and the ball was despatched high into the net
K & H expected to add to their tally in the second half but their play became disjointed although Joe Davey had a great chance when he side stepped the keeper but his effort came back off the crossbar. The K & H defence were becoming increasingly relaxed and were shocked when Lindfield hit back with a surprise shot on the turn. That refocused everyone and also bought about the injection of fresh legs with Dan Goodrum coming on for a run out on his return from injury. It was he who set up the decider making a run on goal-his shot was turned away by the impressive Lindfield keeper but James Harris was on hand to drive it home
