Keymer & Hassocks vs Ifield
Div 1
After previous week’s disappointing result K & H were looking to bounce back against Ifield at the Adastra. In scorching conditions the first half was played out fairly evenly with neither side creating much and defences generally on top
After the break however K & H upped the tempo and started to put Ifield under more pressure. The breakthough came when Toby Raftery made a break down the right and hit a perfect near post cross to Stuart Thompson who converted first time.Joe Davey who was at centre back in the first half had now moved up to midfield where he started to make runs at the Ifield defence which ultimately led to a penalty when he was brought down in the box.Ian Parsonss gave the keeper no chance from the spot.MOM Thompson hit the third when advancing towards the penalty area he saw a gap and curled the ball into the corner of the net with the Ifield keeper unsighted
Ifield kept going however and when K & H were reduced to ten men with Thompson sustaining a knee injury they capitalised on an error by the keeper to fire into an empty net and then after another defensive error hit the post leaving K & H grateful for the final whistle
Keiron Leahy made his debut for the Club and turned in a commanding display throughout the second half
