Peacehaven vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2
K & H ran out 6-1 winners at Peacehaven in freezing conditions although the pitch proved to be in remarkably good condition.
Peacehaven had several players out it seems whilst K & H had 3 late withdrawals on the morning of the game and had to draft in Alex Pearce & Robbie Kift from the seconds
K & H got into their stride right from the off with Jo Davey playing his 100th game finding the space to run at defenders and he started to link up well with Kift who put them ahead early on taking a pass from Stuart Thompson and rounding the goalie.Thompson hit the second after Matt Thomas’s effort was blocked and Kift then muscled his way in for his second going on to complete his hat trick with a low drive from the edge of the box.For their part Peacehaven mounted a series of attacks with full backs Fin Fogarty and Duncan O’Reilly having to work hard to contain their opponents.Keeper Craig Jackson also had to pull off a couple of really good saves
Paecehaven upped their tempo after the break and had a right go at getting back into the game as the contest developed into a really good game of football but it was K & H who found the net again with a solo effort by Gregor Ross and a splendid strike from Jo Davey.Peacehaven got their reward however when a quick break into the K & H box saw a player tripped and the penalty was duly despatched
Accolades to Kift and Alex Pearce who slotted in really well at the back also Ian Parsons who thoroughly enjoyed the physical aspect of the game but MOM went to Craig Jackson who put in a faultless display having no chance with the well taken penalty
