Ashurst vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 2
K & H started their campaign where they left off last season with a defeat
Don’t know if you want to bother with these this season but if so here it is
K & H stated the new campaign were they finished the last one with a defeat
They had to endure 90 minutes on an artificial pitch (with no corner flags) but as the surface was wet the usual skin abrasions caused by these surfaces were happily avoided
K & H actually started quite brightly and created some chances but heads went down slightly after a defensive error let in the home side for a well taken opener.James Emmens converted a penalty after Gregor Ross was brought down. This a least was a positive note as they had no fewer than 6 saved last season.K & H flagged towards the end of the 1st half and the home side again capitalised with a well worked effort
Perhaps surprisingly the second half was quite even with both sides creating chances until Gregor Ross (who was having to endure torrents of abuse)managed to pull K & H back into it following a run into the box
The game was lost however in the last 10 minutes when the surface finally started to drain their energy
Well done to stand in keeper Daniel Southcombe for a solid display in goal-MOM went to Gary Kerr on his debut
