Keymer & Hassocks vs Sporting Lindfield
Edgar German Cup
Another bizarre performance by K & H as they exited the EG Cup by 3-2 to Sporting Lindfield
With MOM Ben (Tomato) Watson patrolling the area just in front of the back four like a caged tiger K & H felt quite comfortable in the first half and took the lead when James Emmens read a perfectly weighted pass from Duncan O’Reilly which he clipped past the keeper.
K & H took the field for the second half in reasonably confident mood with Emmens having a lot of the ball in dangerous areas but his radar was badly off and all opportunities were hopelessly squandered.SP on the other hand managed a period of about 25 minutes when they hardly gave K & H a touch of the ball and duly rattled in their deserved 3 goals.
Daniel Southcombe who had been waiting for his chance ripped off his marshals tabard and came on for the last ten-his appearance appeared to give K & H renewed hope as he immediately settled the defence and single handedly inspired a last ditch series of assaults on the SP goal which paid off when Stuart Thompson fired home but time ran out before they could claw their way back.
