Keymer & Hassocks vs Ansty
Stubbins Cup
K & H progressed to the final of the Stubbins Cup in a hard fought 3-2 win over Ansty.
They eased to a 2-0 advantage in the first half with a 4-man move finished off by Gregor Ross and a fine James Emmens free kick which found the top corner.Toby Raftery then had a chance to add but saw his efforts twice cleared off the line
However Ansty posed a continuing threat particularly in the air and it was no surprise when they got back into the game from a corner just before half time.
K & H felt they could hold their advantage after the restart with sub Dave Edwards looking lively but the contest remained close. They created a number of chances but were unable to find a way past the excellent Ansty keeper.
It was a Ansty who finally fashioned a goal-an unchallenged header at the far post which could have caused K & H heads to go down but shortly after they were awarded a penalty when Jon Ruffle's shot was adjudged to have been handled and K & H MOM Ross stepped up to fire home the decider.
