Peacehaven vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 3
K & H came through a tough physical contest at Peacehaven to record a 2-0 win.
They were able to field their most successful front pairing in the Club's history-James Harris and Toby Raftery-for the first time in many months and it was clear from the start that the old understanding was still there.
Peacehaven were well in the contest stretching K & H's defence and putting in some telling crosses whilst keeper Craig Jackson tested the home defence with a number of enormous clearances.
Toby Raftery put the visitors ahead with a speculative effort which the home keeper misjudged and it crept over the line off a post-he then hit the crossbar from 25 yards out whilst Peacehaven repeated the feat at the other end.
The second half was again fairly even although K & H were probably creating more in terms of chances but the home keeper was in excellent form and equal to everything until James Harris out jumped the defence to head home a Duncan O'Reilly free kick.
K & H were content to play out the last 20 minutes with captain Ben Watson marshalling the home defence well as Peacehaven went all out for a goal going close as their best chance was knocked over from close range.
K & H MOM went to Mike Ridley who despite a knock in the face and carrying an injury barely put a foot wrong throughout.
