Scaynes Hill vs Keymer & Hassocks
Div 3
K & H battled their way to a 3-3 draw in a keenly contested encounter at Scaynes Hill.
The plan was to defend against the slope in the first half if possible and not concede. In the event Jon Ruffle put them ahead with a poachers effort from close range.
SH then began to apply pressure and their number 10 was proving to be a handful-he in due course bringing the home side level as he stole a yard on Troy Raftery and drove a powerful shot past keeper Craig Jackson.
K & H were reasonably confident they could score in the second half but it was SH who went in front after some poor defensive play left Jackson with a one on one and the SH player gave him no chance with a quality finish.
Toby Raftery pulled one back only for SH to get in front again after a strong run down the left and a perfect cross into the box which was converted in style.
Some of the K & H heads went down at this point but the front two Raftery and Stuart Thompson were now coming more and more into the game and it was no surprise when Raftery notched his second.
There was still a result to be had and the game swayed back SH's way as they found themselves with one last chance but this time Jackson beat the shot away.
K & H MOM went to Ben Watson for his covering and distribution throughout.
